I am a Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula and Lactation Educator who lives in Phoenix, Arizona. I also travel all over the country providing care to new families. My career started back in 1996 working in preschools and then I became a Professional Nanny at age 19. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education as well as specialized training as a Newborn Care Specialist, Postpartum Doula and Lactation Educator with Childbirth and Postpartum Professional Association (CAPPA).  I am CPR and First Aid certified with all ages.  I am a member of the International Association of Nannies where I was nominated back in 2013 for Nanny of the Year. In 2011 I started specializing in newborn and postpartum care. I feel the calmness and trust a newborn can have towards me is very fulfilling.

In my opinion to be successful in this business you will need determination, a positive attitude and an ability to adapt to different situations on your jobs. I consider myself very self motivated. In 2014 I started a support group for overnight providers on Facebook. It is the largest and most active group for Newborn Care Specialists, Postpartum Doulas and Night Nannies with over 900 members throughout the world. This group has connected so many at different levels in their careers. I am also very connected in the birth community in Phoenix, AZ. I enjoy attending events and conferences throughout the US as well with others associated in my field. I can recommend birth doulas, lactation consultants, chiropractors and other health care providers if a need arises.

My experience includes both singletons and multiples. I was part of a group of women called, “The Baby Dream Team,” who provided volunteer services to a family of quintuplets in Ohio February 2013. I've worked with special needs newborns, reflux, and premature babies. I’m compassionate, have a positive work ethic and pride myself with the services I provide to families. Teaching and nurturing are strengths I possess along with being a self-starter and an excellent communicator. I feel these are all important qualities a Newborn Care Specialist and Postpartum Doula should have. I continue to set professional goals to accomplish throughout my career and hope to keep learning many things on my journey!
